Three tools, live

Three browser tools built on the engines used in the engagements. One is open to anyone; two are for clients.

The boundary

Who can open what

Portfolio X-Ray is open. No account, no email address and nothing to sign. It was built as a free replacement for the look-through Morningstar retired.

Portfolio Analyser and MomentumFlow AI are client tools and ask you to sign in, because each holds work scoped to a particular mandate. If you would like to see either of them, ask and we will walk you through it.

All three ask only for what the calculation needs — instrument identifiers, weights and a reference currency. None of them requires a client name, an account number or a beneficiary identity.

They are working tools rather than a demonstration. Where a figure cannot be computed from what you supplied, the output names what is missing instead of estimating it.

Measurement

Panels built from the filing, not from a vendor field

A column labelled with the name of a measure carries whatever the underlying field happened to hold. The measurement panels start instead at the primary record, apply one written normalisation policy, and return each figure together with the evidence required to reproduce it.

The worked example is the listed private credit panel. It divides each closing price by the most recent net asset value per share the filer reported to the SEC, across the US-listed business development companies that hold sponsored middle-market loans, and it is rebuilt every trading day. At 27 August 2026, the latest session the panel holds, the median filer traded 22.6 per cent below the value its own manager reported, with 27 of the 35 priced filers below theirs.

What travels with every figure

ElementWhat it answers
The universeWhich filers entered the measure, and how many.
The exclusionsEvery name left out, with the reason it was left out.
The coverageHow much of the requested universe the figure represents.
The windowThe exact dates the series covers, printed beside every percentile.
The constructionThe arithmetic applied, and the aggregation method named.
The sourceThe filing or price series behind each input, with its retrieval date.

What the policy declines to do

  • Estimate a figure whose input has yet to be published. A reading that cannot be computed is returned empty with the reason attached, because a visible gap is safer than a filled one.
  • Carry a reading forward from an earlier period. Each period is computed from its own observations.
  • Publish a measure whose coverage falls under the stated floor. Below it the panel returns the coverage result in place of the figure.

The same policy runs against a universe you define, on the fiscal years you choose, and the result arrives with the record above attached to it. Where a client already holds the underlying data, the engine runs against theirs.

AMC Design and Tailored Portfolio Construction

The construction dossier is three risk profiles in one reference currency, every weight argued and every figure dated and sourced. Each runs to between ten and nineteen pages and is delivered with a live workbook carrying the explicit formulas behind it.

Below are the reference builds, in NWCA's own name. A client engagement produces the same document in the firm's own colours.

What each dossier argues

  • Strategic allocation. Every weight argued rather than asserted, with the instrument selection down to the ISIN, the total expense ratio and the all-in cost including carry.
  • Diversifier sleeves. Each sleeve chosen is argued against the ones rejected, so the reader sees what was considered and not only what survived.
  • Protection overlay. Sized against implied volatility at the time of writing, rather than set at a round number.
  • Crisis replays. 2008, 2020 and 2022 run against a naive blend, so the construction is judged against the obvious alternative.
  • Ten-year monthly backtest. Every monthly return for the period, so the path through each drawdown is visible alongside the total.

What is rendered, and in what format

  • The dossier. Roughly fourteen pages as a PDF, in the firm's own colours, suitable for the compliance file as sent.
  • The backtest. An Excel workbook carrying the explicit formulas rather than pasted values, so every figure can be traced to its input and re-run on your own series.
  • The allocation and cost tables. In the same workbook, on their own sheets, so a weight or a fee can be changed and the result recomputes.
  • The charts. Rendered into the document, each carrying its source and the date the series was retrieved.

Backtested results are historical simulations and are not a representation of future returns. Nothing in these documents is investment advice or a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
